Children are seen for common pediatric problems such as fever, infections, cough, wheeze, asthma, rashes and minor injuries, as well as more complex medical concerns. Assessment may include history, examination and review of previous reports. Families receive clear guidance on home care, medicines, tests that might be needed and when it is safest to attend an urgent care clinic or emergency department in the local health system.
Children with hormone or growth concerns can be assessed for issues such as short stature, rapid growth, early or delayed puberty, thyroid problems, weight changes and other endocrine conditions. Visits may include review of growth charts, targeted blood tests and imaging when required. Families receive clear explanations, treatment plans and follow-up to support healthy development at home, at school and in everyday activities.
Dr Korada supports children diagnosed with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus (and their families) in a multidisciplinary team setting from the Pediatric Diabetes Clinic at Surrey Memorial Hospital. A child suspected of type 1 diabetes mellitus should initially be referred to an emergency department. The family will then receive appropriate education in an acute care setting before a referral to an outpatient clinic is made.
